Under the Foreign Minister’s Vision F.O thought leadership platform, the Foreign Office commenced a digital commemoration series, honouring the legacy of former Foreign Ministers and Foreign Secretaries of Pakistan. Today is the death anniversary of H.E Sahabzada Yaqub Ali Khan

Commemorating His Excellency, Sahabzada Yaqub Ali Khan  (23 December 1920 – 26 January 2016)  H.E. Sahabzada Yayub Ali Khan remains one of Pakistan’s most iconic Foreign Ministers.

With his multifaceted career in both military and diplomacy, H.E Khan served Pakistan across a diversity of fronts. He was educated in England and at the Indian Military College at Dehradun.

In 1972, H.E Khan was appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to France, thereafter also serving as Ambassador to the United States and the Soviet Union. He went on to become Foreign Minister in 1982.
