Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the Ehsaas Kafaalat Payment site in Islamabad today to kick off payments to 7 million beneficiaries.
SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar briefed the Prime Minister about the measures taken to improve payment quality, actions to fight cyber-attacks, and modalities to facilitate women to open digital savings wallets.
The Ehsaas Kafaalat payment will be made in phases. Phase-I has commenced today where payments would start for 4.3 million women. Each beneficiary will be paid Rs.12,000 covering the period Jul-Dec 2020. The beneficiaries can access banks and withdraw money from ATMs.
The Prime Minister has already given approval to increase the number of Ehsaas Kafaalat beneficiaries to 7 million women which means 7 million households will benefit.
Payments to additional beneficiaries will be made December 2020 onwards & the process will be completed in the current fiscal year.
Wideranging Ehsaas Kafaalat reforms have been introduced, including device restrictions, new safety protocols, electronic receipts, complaint resolution, real-time transaction reporting, alerts panels, and transparency dashboards.
Ehsaas One Woman One Account will enable access to secure & affordable transactions, payments, savings, credit & insurance. It will spur economic activity, improve delivery of benefits & innovative solutions for 7 million women!
